(CNN) — There’s a lot of talk about luxury’s rising prices, but it’s at auction that fashion is selling for the most eye-popping of sums. Fashion items from the sets of TV, film and even commercials can also garner high prices. Frank Augstein/APWhile selling prices are widely publicized, auction houses maintain something akin to attorney-client privilege when it comes to the identities of their bidders. In fact, much of the archival fashion seen on stars today has passed through auction. “That dress would now sell for $10 million because of that double whammy connection of a celebrity,” said Nolan.

Along with the rise of new customers, problem-gambling behavior is increasing, especially among young men. The New Jersey report identified a significant prevalence of high-risk stock trading among young men. According to the National Council on Problem Gambling, some 2.5 million Americans have a severe gambling problem, and another 5 million to 8 million have a problem it considers mild or moderate.

In today's big story, we're breaking down how to identify a meme stock . Three years after GameStop upended things, meme stocks are back in fashion. But how does one find a meme stock? (Trump Media doesn't technically qualify as a meme stock under Sosnick's criteria due to the amount of low short interest. Maintaining long-term support for a meme stock remains a tough nut to crack.

Donald Trump's newly public social-media company is not the next Nvidia — or Meta or Google or whatever has happened with X/Twitter. It seems, let's say, unlikely that his media company's stock price is going to stay so high forever. AdvertisementFor one thing, TMTG, which owns the conservative Twitter copycat Truth Social, makes basically nothing. Truth Social and any other business Trump Media and Technology Group spins up is pretty much guaranteed to appeal just to Trump fans. Might Trump and Truth Social be different, at least on the stock front?

At Vinco, Farnsworth employed several of the same tactics that he had at MoviePass and at his earlier ventures. "Ted took these press releases and really treated them like they were works of art for him," Matt Argall, a former advisor to Farnsworth, told BI. Hudson Bay has not been served the lawsuit as of the publication of this story. "Hudson Bay's investment in Vinco Ventures was a standard, fixed price convertible loan of which millions remain unpaid," Hudson Bay told BI in a statement. "If served, Hudson Bay will seek to have these baseless, factually flawed and frivolous claims, which have been repeatedly dismissed in other proceedings against other parties, dismissed expeditiously."

Those who have already swallowed the high borrowing costs to short Trump Media are getting hosed. But if the stock price keeps going up, there’s no limit to the amount you’d have to pay to replace the borrowed shares. “But…long shareholders have a much different and much more positive view” on Trump Media. Bottom line: Trump Media, trading under the ticker DJT, is a classic meme stock (if “classic” can apply to a three-year-old concept). CNN —Last week, I ditched work one day and went to a matinee at a local AMC theater. It was a Timothée Chalamet movie, because statistically of course it was. There are few things this movie nerd loves more than a big, loud sci-fi fantasy epic on an IMAX screen. It’s as if big movie chains are responding to the dire warnings about the death of their industry by deciding they’ll simply force-feed their remaining audience as much monetizable property as possible. Long live the fun movie theater experience, which is totally possible!
